Near infrared spectroscopy is a non invasive method to the screen tissue. The light, penetrating the tissue, changes its light spectrum depending on the state of the tissue. With this technique, e.g. the oxygen supply to the tissue can be monitored. The nScan 1200 consists of a Industrial PC from Digital Logic AG (Switzerland) running all the user interface and a embedded ucLinux controller which handles all the data acquisition. A FPGA performs all the measurement cycles in real time. |

The same technology is used with reduced number and channel resolution as a lightweight wireless device. All the data acquisition electronic has about the size of a match box. Bluetooth (TM) is used for the wireless data communication with the BlueZ linux bluetooth stack. This is a cooperation with Arquatis GmbH (Switzerland). |
