The traffic counting data transmitted from the FLEXICOM device is collected in a PostgreSQL database. The transfer protocol is a SOAP/XML format (XFire). Apache Tomcat allows to run java application as webservice. The HTML code is generated on the fly by the Apache Myface in combination with Apache Tiles. This allows maximum flexibility without the need to write the webpages in HTML. The user can administrate the data and run extensive statistics. It is not required to install any additional software on the user computer. All the statistics are executed on the server side. A Latex preprocessor generates all the necessary database queries and finally generates a PDF file, which is send to the user by email.
